Install the Android app

The Android app wraps everything the website does and adds three things you can’t get from a browser tab:

  • Home-screen widgets — your watch list and upcoming episodes at a glance (details).
  • Release notifications — a push notification when something you follow releases within the next day (details).
  • An app icon that opens straight into Orion, with widget taps deep-linking to the right show inside the app.

Orion is coming to Google Play. Until the listing is live, testers install the APK directly:

  1. Download orion-media-tracker.apk on your phone (your invite includes the link).
  2. Open the downloaded file and allow your browser or files app to install unknown apps when prompted (Android asks the first time).
  3. Open Orion and sign in with your account — the app uses the same sign-in as the website, including Google Sign-In.
  • On Android 13+ the app asks for notification permission — allow it if you want release notifications.
  • The app connects to https://orionmedia.app by default. If you were told to use a different server URL (e.g. for testing), change it from the small gear button at the bottom of the app.

Add a home-screen widget — it’s the best part.
